I have a 2021 kicks super bass model nothing fancy at all. I want to add sound but the trunk is too small to put a subwoofer. I was wondering if anybody thinks upgrading the factory speakers would help significantly and what size would they recommend? thank you so much. Any feedback would be very much appreciated. I also wanna figure out how to get a roof rack on this thing But that’s gonna probably be more complicated.

i would suggest to look at crutcfield.com they have a wide selection of good speakers.
for better base they recommend to use the biggest size you can fit.
i have use Rockford fostgate the 3 way & it sounds good
crutchfield also gives you free hardware i.e. speaker adapters & wire adapters.
they also have Infinity some people say they are good , but i have not tried them yet.
crutchfield also has a sound tester for almost every speaker they have
don't forget to check the Specials section for Sale items
i hope this helps.

for the subwoofer if you want more info i can give you some advice
we have another member here that is an expert in Audio Systems

Thank you so much for your feedback unless the subwoofer could go underneath the front seat at a reasonable cost I don’t think it could work but on the speaker replacement do you believe the upgrade would give me a significantly better sound experience than the base models factory speakers thanks again for taking the time to answer. Please an awesome for him.

i use all rockford fosgate products .. also rockford fosgate makes a dsp thats a dsp and a line out put converter and turns on external amps and uses rca connections to the amp so you can keep the stock head unit.. it snot cheap at 400 dollars..

but its worth it you can modifiy everything via the app it uses bluetooth and tailor your sound to you.. 13 band channels time alighment etc this Amazon.com

you have to download i think or go to the site it says in the manual then flash if for general pourpose .. but is has a mesitro in it which means you can set it up to do other things just use it as a normal dsp in the general mode etc..

then you can get any old amp hook it up to it use the turn on feature it has to turn the amps on and then get any door speakers 6.5 inch for the whole car id get components seperate tweeters and subs i use the power series there more expensive.. and a couple of 10 inch subs even 1 will due.. ill show my setup here soon ..make sure to get good quality wire not that junk on amazon its not copper its aluminum and good speaker wire good rca cables dont skimp

Seems I am late to the party, if you want an idea, take a look as how I did mine, https://www.nissankicksforum.com/posts/46638/

The last post is how I have my system set up ... Sorry, had, this is my system:

Audio Control DQ61(discontinued) It offers EQ for front, rear and sub plus adds delay and restores bass, was lucky to find a new one on 'closeout sale' with wty, so, I purchased. Will replace with an ATOMO4|6 DSP
GLADEN RC150c5, 5ch amp: 4full range 1 low
RS165 Speed G2, component speakers for front door and A pillar tweeter install with modified mount
RC165, 2 way coax speakers for rear door, as 'fillers'
RS-X 10 Slim x2 (sealed sub box)

This is a short video of my old system with Focal speakers, Rockford Fosgate amp and Sound Ordnance 125W Powered sub

Hello,

Many disagree with me, replacing OEM speakers with aftermarket ones, yes, improves sound but, have in mind, OEM headunit is designed for 2Ohm speakers, aftermarket speakers, most of the ones designed for doors(basically) are 4Ohm ... You are adding a load to the headunit and it or might not damage your head unit.

I've been doing stereos using headunits since, 1985/6 when I got my first car, why? Simple, thieves look inside and see the factory radio, they loose interest in the car.

You're very welcome! Unless a subwoofer can fit under the front seat at a reasonable cost, it might not be the best option. As for the speaker upgrade, yes, replacing the factory speakers should give you a noticeably better sound experience, especially with higher-quality components. It’s definitely worth considering if you're looking for clearer and more dynamic audio. And agreed—this is an awesome forum

How's your upgraded system build?
