I Love showing it off lol
That is my next mod, a friend will re-upholster it in a 'black nappa-ish leather' tex ...

@SheetKicker, tone it down a bit, seems you have forgotten to take your daily diazepam dose ... Each one of us here has good and bad experiences with the vehicles, I have a squeak that happens to me, when at dealership, zero, none, nada, zilch ... They give it to me, there it goes ... No need to transfer your anger towards the rest here.

Yes, issues suck, you get angry, but, you don't reply to each and every post with anger ... I am sorry that your dealership is snob-ish, sorry that you have not have the best experience with your vehicle, but, we are not at fault

Kicking myself for not staying with Honda. I have had my car for 4 days and hate it! Cruise control sucks on hills. Have to drive 20 miles to work and have 3 hills to go up. The seats are hard wish i could return but I’m leasing. So 3 yrs of ****
Is it too much work to press the accelerator pedal? Is the spring too hard? Maybe something like this for the seats, to make them softer, Cushioned Car Seat Cover - Nivtt or maybe this, https://www.amazon.com/Tsumbay-Cush...6&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9061312&hvtargid=pla-810851145342

I have the most basic model, Essence: 5MT, AC-Electric windows basic AM/FM radio and the USB, yes, I have moded it to my liking, but, I do prefer it to a Kia or Hyundai, it is MORE comfortable than the comparable model from those brands or the non-USA Toyota Rush or the fairly new Raize, I have driven other similar vehicles, the seats on this one, are comfy, I do wish they had more lateral support for my driving style, I am out of warranty, so, I do my own maintenance ... Seems most of the issues here are with US models full of extras to please a crowd that purchases based on money vs extras, I paid $17 999.00 including tax; purchased my accesories and had them installed all at dealership, so when I received it, it was delivered the way I wanted it and still did not break $20K. The car is fun, the car is utilitarian, I live on a hill, 25% incline, 1st gear 2500RPM easy peasy, wife's Kicks, CVT, 2500RPM easy peasy ... I am one of those that thinks that the less electronic gadgets, the less the vehicle will mess up.

Cars have 3 or 2 pedals, use them

What do you mean with " I'm 3 transmissions in at 80 k "

My transmission has been replaced twice, i have 83,000 miles on the car.
Transmission replaced once at 28,000, the second one was replaced at 59,000.
Under warranty?

My first Datsun was a 140B, then a Bluebird 2.0 Diesel, a 1984 Patrol, then a 2003 350Z, all used, my first and only NEW Nissan has been the 2019 Kicks Sense 5MT ... Wife has a 2018 Executive, AT, hate the CVTs, in general

About the only thing I can say positive about my 2023 Kicks SV is that I can get 31+ MPG. Too many negatives for me to list. If I had to make the purchase all over again, I would get something else. Do I like my Kicks? Yes. Do I regret purchasing it though? Yes.
I see many incomformities with the owners who have the models with all the goodies ... Again, I have had NO issues with mine, the only gripe I had, was fixed:
  • NO Bearings issues
  • NO electrical issues
  • NO USB or CarPlay or the like issues
  • Either I am lucky and got a Wednesday car and you all got either Monday or Friday cars ...
  • The one and only issue my wife's car had, was for lack of use, ABS/ASR lights would come ON but after a few long drves, issue was gone
My only gripe with Nissan is that, they should have offered, as an option, a larger engine with all models

Hello,

Will copy some of your gripes and my comments besides:

  • Seats are uncomfortable on long(er) drives >>> Driven 400kms in one day, felt normal, even more comfortable than a friend's RAV4
  • Rear seats don't fold flat enough >>> Totally agree, although, I use the space between backrest and seat to 'store' things
  • cup holders are too narrow and too tall
    • I can't use my 16oz travel mug because its too wide >>> My water bottle used for cycling, no issues
    • I have to use risers for a McDonald's small coffee >>> Rule in my car is NO DRINKING OR EATING, except when using a cycling bottle
  • I've developed a gap in my rear bumper under the hatch latch >>> 35 000kms no issues here
  • I'll ask about it when I go to the dealer for the 10k mile oil change (I plan to do it every 5-6k miles) >>> I do my oil changes every 5 000kms with full synthetic oil
  • There's a bit too much wind noise >>> I don't feel it as too much, above avg but, very close to some of more expensive competitors
  • Although not an issue for me, there are no cup holders in the rear, only 2 bottle holders in the door. >>> Again, if rear seats were to be used, ONLY cycling bottles, have only used those seats 5 times in 5 years :ROFLMAO:
  • Radio sometimes freezes or fails to boot when I have my S12FE connected >>> No issues with my S9+ and base radio
  • Doesn't come standard with the cargo cover or parcel shelf >>> Comes standard for us locally
  • Also, no cargo net or tie downs, so my roadside emergency box keeps sliding around >>> If I need to tie something down, I use ratchet straps to the tie down 'hooks' on the sides and rear of trunk
  • No option for sun roof. I really miss not having a sun roof. >>> Since the last car I had with sunroof, I do not want another one. Local climate is a killer
  • No heated seats, heated wheel, or automatic air on the SV. You'd have to get the SR Premium package for that and get leather seats, something I didn't want. >>> Have never cared for those, they tax the electrical system of the vehicle way too much.
Other than the issue with my wife's car and a AC vent(in my car), the one towards the inner windshield, the support rod was unhooked, and let cold air towards the windshield and fogged it, issue was fixed and no more issues. Other than regular maintenance, I have no issues, I enjoy my car and drive the tyres off of it ... For me is a 2 seater most of the time, my bycicle basically lives in the car.

It is my opinion(nobody has to like it) that if most could do with less 'convinience stuff' in their cars, cars would NOT be so heavy, and many would not have so many issues that they have in order to please people that want it all but in reality could not afford it.

I am 55, and I have had a few cars and motorcycles:
2 Mercedes[280SEL)W126)/300TD(W124),
1989 Peugeot 405 Mi16(AC deleted),
VW Passat wagon VR6 manual,
Mitsubishi Galant 2.5VR6-24 with 5sp manual/AWD,
1989 MR2 manual,
2007 Suzuki Swift w/paddle shifters,
2005 Ducati Monster 620ie w/Ducati Performance tuning kit,
1991 BMW 318is[1991 e30],
VW Golf GTD 1988,
'79 Suzuki RM80,
Kawasaki GPz900,
Isuzu Stylus Diesel 1987, 5sp,
1982 Toyota Cressida Diesel wagon AT,
2003 350Z w/non VVT,
Datsun 120Y,
1990 Camry ...
My biggest regret is selling, the Peugeot 405Mi16 ... As you can see, many cars I have enjoyed, either sold them for the next in line or at times, because I had to!

I enjoy driving, so, for me, the less is more! The most luxurious cars I had were the Mercedes, VW Passat and BMW 318is, I enjoyed them a lot, but, never had issues with any of them, my issues have always been with the dealerships! :ROFLMAO:

i love mine its cheap has a ton of features its small so i can get into small parking spots its super light weight..
good gas milage.. etc..

only thing id change is the transmission to a normal one and more modded parts custom speed chips etc seems like theres certain stuff hard to come by or not at all etc.. and its priced just right.. the nissan sentra and versa are even cheaper but the problem with them is hard to get into seems like its stuffy and too hard to enter and exit unless your skinny and 20 years old but us older people have issues which is why i bought the kicks i dont have to bend down to get in
If there had been a Versa wagon available, I would have gotten one ... I really don't like being so high of the ground ... I have learnt to like it, a lot, gives me some advantages over closer to the ground cars, but still, I have beer budget with champagne+caviar taste ... What happened to the fun cars of the late 80's/90's? Cars one could thinker on and the most it could happen was that it would not start ... I miss those cars
