Not sure which models this affects, but Nissan admitted to inspection irregularities that has been going on for years at their plants in Japan. Because of this, they're suspending domestic production of vehicles for the Japanese market for around two weeks. Was the Kicks among those models produced in Japan?

They could have been inspected by unauthorized staff.

Acoording to BNN, Nissan is back in the business starting from November 7, however I'm still not sure what models were affected. Hope it didn't hurt production too much.

In a way at least this might have helped to move pre-configured models that were sitting on dealer lots because when someone wants a new car, rarely there's not a sense of urgency, especially with models as cheap as this. If we were talking about some sort of exotic car, it would be a different story.

But would the cars sitting on lots not be recalled to be inspected again, or a stop sale issued?

But you even said you don't know which models it impacts so that's where you should start with your questions. Figure out which production range has the issue.
