Have you brought it to the dealer? What have they said?
Have you brought it to the dealer? What have they said?Just got a 21 kicks sv for my daughter. She loves the car and doesn't care about the air temp issue but it is definitely still an issue. Temp set to 60-61 it gets cold. 62 & up it burns hot as ****. Definitely sucks
I haven't. I asked my salesperson about it when I picked up my plates and she said she wasn't aware of a problem, to try turning the ac on at the lower temperatures (completely missing the point of what the issue is) and to bring it in if it continues to be a problemHave you brought it to the dealer? What have they said?
I have the sameHey all, I just learned of a new and irritating problem with the Kicks. I bought a 2018 Kicks SR a couple of months ago and enjoy the vehicle. As it has gotten cooler here in the Midwest I noticed a problem with the interior temperature. When the temp gauge is set at 60 or 61 degrees the system blows very cold air, as soon as the gauge is set to 62, the system starts blowing hot air, there is no way to get just warm air or to be comfortable. I took the vehicle for service yesterday and was told by the dealer (after two hours of trying to determine the problem) that it was just designed that way. They indicated that there were several other complaints in the system for the same issue and they found that the system was designed to fully open the heater blend door at 63 degrees. This effectively means that you can set it at 60-62 degrees and be cold or set it at 63 degrees which is the same thing as 90 degrees, full open blend door. The dealer stated that there is no way to make a fix to this, but rather, Nissan has to provide a fix and will only do so if they receive enough customer complaints.
I'm curious if anyone else is experiencing the same thing and noticing that they can not find a comfortable temperature? If you do, I ask that you log a complaint so Nissan will provide a fix to the dealers. My dealer admitted that it was a design flaw and should not be this way.
Just today I’ve been texting with the service department. They said it shouldn’t do that, but that’s how it’s made. I’m really hoping that a class action lawsuit happens.Everyone needs to know WHY Nissan keeps using the same line "it's DESIGNED that way".
This is what Nissan's legal team has advised them to say because if it was designed that way, they are not liable for anything. If they say it's a DEFECT then they are liable.
It's really just a play on words to avoid any legal ramifications.
Has anyone else gotten anything in writing from them regarding this issue? If yes, please contact me.
Mine does the same, also wondering if this is normal.I have a 2019, but the auto temperature settings are still not very accurate, end up switch to manual and cranking up the AC fan most of the time. I have noticed that the AC compressor kicks on and off a lot, I hear the click and less than a minute later another click a few minutes later again. Very random and frequent. Is it normal for this car? My other cars have never done this.

Try taking it to the dealership. Have them check the blend door actuator or the climate or HVAC control module. Be sure that you have them document it as for future reference after the warranty expires. I hope this helps. Keep us postedWelp....this post is old but....I have a 2023 SR and guess what, same dang problem. I thought I was imagining things!
This ridiculous fault seems to be worse when outside ambient temperatures are cold. The original poster to this thread, who only posted one time, detailed this fault very accurately.I guess I still don't understand what everyone is doing and why you would turn the temp down to 60 or so. I keep mine set on AUTO, temp at 69 or 70, and I get heat if it's cold out, and get AC if it's hot out. The idea is to keep the cabin at 69-70 degrees which is my comfort zone. The system works flawlessly, alternating between heat and air depending on what it needs to get the cabin to that temp. This is how I have used all my cars with climate control and they all function the same. I do not continually adjust the temp setting on it. It stays set at that temp year round, just like my house.
