You could always just look into sun strips. They aren't that expensive and they can be completely customized to your liking. Will reduce the amount of sunlight that gets into the cabin.
Seen tinted windshields in person for myself and it might be one direction I go to remedy the issue. Took a Kicks on a test drive during sunset (nothing worse than that) and came across the same issue, even when the sun was higher up.
