A quick little overview of some of the key aspects of the Kicks. Nissan is targeting a younger demographic with this model, and it provides good tech, cargo volume and a comfortable ride- all at an affordable price. Here are 5 things worth noting.
Android Auto/Apple CarPlay is not standard
If you want phone mirroring software for your Kicks, its not available on the base trim. You'll have to upgrade to the SV and add approximately $1,500 to the price.
Autonomous emergency braking is standard
Safety is a key aspect of new vehicle sales these days and Nissan will be offering AEB as standard on all trim levels.
Good quality phone connectivity
While basically every new vehicle offers Bluetooth connectivity for your phone, not all of them have the best quality sound. Luckily it looks like this wont be an issue on the Kicks.
Front wheel drive only
While many new crossovers are being offered as both FWD and AWD, Nissan wont be offering that setup for the first generation model. The trade off however is improved fuel economy, which is rated at 33mpg.
Base price is <$19k
A base model Kicks is $18,985 including destination. Depending on additional features such as BSM, rear traffic alert and heated seats will add anywhere from $2-$7k on top of the price. Fully spec'd expect to spend around $24k, which is still impressive for a brand new car.
