I only get 25.4 MPG in the city? No I do not have a heavy foot Ant comments I would appreciate.I thought that it would get at least low 30MPG
The strange thing I don't understand is why doesn't the 2021 kicks have a remote trunk unlock or a dash unlock button. am I missing something ?
and trying to get used to no overhead compartment for sunglasses. Little things we appreciate from previous cars not added to the new one's can get to a person. Yes I know. pay more attention before buying

What brand fuel are you running? The mpg hit could be you are using fuel that has way too much ethanol. Are you fueling up with E85 or E88 ? If you are, stop. Octane may be higher.. just means it burns hotter. But there's less energy.

Try regular unleaded. My Wife's 2022 Kicks SR long term MPG is 34.7mpg When we drive on local country roads the car averages 41mpg. Most of the time the car averages 34mpg. Running Shell 89 Octane and Mobil Regular fuel.
How bad is the city driving ? We don't drive in the city much but for a test we purposely reset the mpg counter when we drove to the nissan dealership in warwick. going over the bridge there's always a backup from Seekonk, MA to the 195 Split in Providence, and construction around Cranston RI.. not a fun ride but got to test Adaptive Cruise, we averaged only 29mpg then.

There are so many factors that affect mpg, not just having a heavy foot. Do you drive in the mountains? Do you spend alot of time stopped at stoplights. What is the temperature where you live, etc.
I have two vehicles. My 2016 Jeep Wrangler and my wife's 2022 Kicks SR. We are heading up to the White Mountains in NH. We usually take my Wrangler that way I can take fire access roads (C class .. dirt, rocks, usually washed out in some areas where I just crawl over the rocks and holes) This time we want to see how the Kicks SR performs for long road trips and climbing steep hills and elevations. We are going to take the Mt. Washington Auto Road to the summit.
My Wrangler can do it with no problem. I have a 1 1/2 " lift and 34" BFG KO2 tires. Usually with this road trip I average 1,100 miles since we drive all along the Kancamagus Highway in NH, up Mt. Washington, sometimes up to the Canadian Border. For that trip the Wrangler averages around 20mpg. Which isn't bad for a 285hp 3.6L equipped 4 ton vehicle with a 3.75 gear ratio. At the moment my wife's Kicks SR averages 34.6mpg. That's the average mpg over 3200 miles.. since she bought the car. 2 months. We will see how that little 1.8L engine does. I expect it to do very well up 95N, and in the Mountains I expect the short term mpg drop to 29mpg or so and average 36mpg for the trip. We will see. I hope it lives up to my expectations. My best MPG for this trip was my 2015 VW TDI Beetle. I averaged 68mpg for that trip but Diesel Gate put an end to that. The VW TDI Bug generated some crazy high low end torque and did very well chugging up the steep incline to Mt. Washington.

Here's an MPG update. The fuel I am running in my wife's Kicks SR is Mobil 89 Octane. We took my wife's Kicks SR on a road trip to Mount Washington in New Hampshire. We took the 25 miles of back roads along rte 118 to rte 152 and got on 95 North.. All the way to New Hampshire. Around the 95/128 merge we hit the typical stop and go congestion.. the worst of it lasted for 15 minutes. We averaged 32.5mpg to New Hampshire, from there wee took the back roads to Sunday River Restore Maine, we averaged 39mpg (speed between 35 - 50 mph) winding hilly country back roads. From Sunday River Resort (where we stayed) to Mt Washingron (Gorham, NH) 39mpg! Up My Washington in Low all the way up. No power issues at all. 1/4 - 1/2 throttle. When we reached an elevation of 6,200 feet, the forward and rear collision sensors failed. I think it's because the ultrasonic sensors were not calibrated for an altitude over 6,000 ft so I just ignored the flashing lights. It was a steep climb up, 15mpg. Driving down the mountain in 1st gear we averaged 62.9 mpg so it's all a wash. The trip back to our condo at Sunday River averaged 35.2 The next day we drove all over to Conway, NH and then along the Kancamagus Highway to check out all the views, hiked along lower falls , then headed back home. There was no traffic going home. We averaged 39.6 mpg!

Don't use gasoline high in Ethanol. Make sure you buy good gasoline. Don't go for the cheapest. 87 Octane does not achieve the best mpg in this car. Use 89 Octane. Don't burn fuel high in Ethanol. I use Mobil, Shell, and Sunoco 89 Octane. If you run fuel high in Ethanol you will take a 30% reduction hit on MPG and performance.

MPG this bad might be due to too much ethanol in the fuel. What gasoline do you run ? read my update.. my wife and I took her 2022 Kicks SR for a road trip and it did awesome. I think the low mpg is caused by the fuel you are using.
I use Mobil 89 Octane most of the time. I never use Gulf(Cumberland Farms), Costco, BJs Wholsale, Stop & Shop.. it's all crap gasoline. It may be cheaper but at least 30% lower fuel mpg because of the higher ethanol content.
Stick with the good stuff. Chevron, Mobil, Shell, Sunoco .. and don't use 87 octane. Use 89 Octane.
The trunk unlock button is the rectangular rubber button near the rear license plate light and rear view camera.
Either unlock the doors first or keep the fob in your pocket and press the switch.

I'm thinking about 3D Printing an eyeglass case in TPU that will mount inside the phone cubby. Depending on the print time I might sell them or the stl file. If overhead is preferred maybe I can create a mount the will attach near the cabin emergency call button location up top and center. Or driver and passenger side near the A Pillars. It's easy to mount something there.

Try 89 Octane.. good fuel like Mobil, Chevron, Shell, Sunoco
And report back.

in acities you can expect 15mpg to 25 why stop and starts notice it does 10mpg when you take off where this gets the most 35-45 is on the freeway why engine is at a constant 2000 rpm also clear your mpg meter every time you start off that could do it too

The vehicle does much better than that. Driving on rural curvy rural roads we average 36.4 mpg. Highway 39.6 and road trips over 300 miles we have seen 45 mpg. We use Sunoco, Shell, or Mobil fuel. If fuel has high ethanol, mpg suffers. My Wrangler averages 19.8 mpg on country roads and 18mpg on the highway but I have BFG 34" tires, lifted an additional 1.5" from stock, and a 3:73 gear ratio. I use the same fuel for both vehicles.
