I have a 2018 Kicks SV, now I love my kicks. It has less than 28,000 miles on it. I really don’t drive that much, grocery store, doctor appointments and church. I bought it brand new. Not under warranty because it’s over 3 years. Anyway, mechanic tells me ball bearing or wheel bearing needs to be replaced. I thought they could go 85,000-100,000 miles. So why is this happening? It’s not cheap either. Am I going to have to replace the other ones too? I’m really mad. I am very careful with my car. The roads are terrible where I live, but this don’t make sense. I bought a new car hoping I would only have to do regular maintenance on the car at least until I finish paying it off. I see a few other people have had this issue but even earlier than me. I feel like this is a manufacturer problem. Can we do anything else about it, besides pay for the repair?

See if you can negotiate the price down because it is a common problem on the car. My wife's 2018 SR had the same issue at about 35,000 miles and it was around $500 I think to get it fixed on one wheel. Soon after she traded it in on a 2022 kicks SR so I'm hoping that doesn't have the same issue.

I've got 3 Kicks in the house, mine is the one with the least kms, but, the one driven the hardest, no issues what so ever with any of the suspension parts.

I have always had good luck[?] purchasing from RockAuto, and here is a link to the bearings, 2019 NISSAN KICKS 1.6L L4 Wheel Bearing & Hub | RockAuto

I purchased all wheel bearing and suspension parts from them for my old 350Z before I sold it for parts since a bus with NO insurance decided to park in the trunk.

Thanks, I called Nissan Consumer Affairs and told them that I have seen a lot of Kicks with this problem and bearings are supposed to last 85,000 miles and we’re not even close to that. Basically they told me too bad, you should have bought an extended warranty. The dealership is charging me $860+tax. That includes the alignment. I had it at another Auto repair shop where they were only charging me $558 for the bearing, labor & alignment but couldn’t do it because with these new car safety equipment they need a special machine, and they didn’t have the machine, so they couldn’t do the repair & told me I would have to take it to the dealership. And the dealership wanted to still charge $230 to diagnose it. Even though I told them it’s been diagnosed. I even asked why it is $300 more than the other place. I told Nissan consumer affairs that it should be a recall with all the Kicks with same issue, that it is either an inferior part or defective. They didn’t care. I have loved Nissan’s but if I buy another car, I may go to another company. But thanks for responding. I appreciate it.

Good news! Bearings are covered under power train warranty! I was able to get the Bearing covered but still had to pay for the alignment! But that is a whole lot less than the quote for the bearing & alignment! So glad I mentioned Power Train when talking to service.

Glad to learn it was taken care off ... I've been asking people I know locally and issues with wheel bearings are not common

I was surprised to having a bearing issue. Had a 300zx in the past drove it over 100,000 miles never replaced a bearing. So when my Kicks had an issue & read on this forum that other people had bearing issues early, I called Nissan Consumer Affairs & told them they had to be defective. They acted like too bad, you should have bought an extended warranty. But bearings should last at least 85,000 miles! But glad it was covered under Power Train Warranty. Just wanted others to know to mention their Power Train Warranty if they gave bearing issues.

I purchased a 2007 350Z, down here we only got them one way[sort of a mix of Performance/Touring], it had about 75 000kms seemed in good shape, had to replace the hardy scheibe and tyres, don't like Bridgestone. Used another good 50 000kms when a very very low frequency wrrrrrrrm, was heard. Without thinking it, ordered all 4 bearings/hub assemblies, new springs and shocks, new tyres, 9 hours later, nothing, just the exhaust talking to me.

I drive my Kicks hard, once a month I do go a friend's shop, lifted and check suspension/steering, all is good, but since I am nearing 5 yrs, I am slowly purchasing all suspension/steering components to replace them.
